Taking care of bamboo plants is very easy. It generally grows in a few inches of clear water and can be supported by small pebbles, stones and marbles. It even adds to the decorative element. The important thing to take care is to keep the water clean and fresh avoiding stagnation at all times. In some areas the local water is highly treated with chlorine and fluoride making the leaf tips of the bamboo plant turn yellow or brown. The condition can also happen if there is too much salts in the water. It is best to allow tap water stand in an open container for a day before using it for the plant.

The other important element is the light levels that are very important for taking care of the bamboo plant. Lucky bamboo plant grows best in shady areas. So select an indoor location with bright and indirect light. Direct sun can burn the leaves and too little light can weaken the growth of the plant. Household temperature is the best for bamboo plants.

Can Cuttings Be Taken from Lucky Bamboo?

One can easily take cuttings from lucky bamboo plant. New stalks can come from the original plant. Use a sharp knife and cut through the stalk, just below the point. Place the fresh stalk in clean water and soon it will grow out.
